A pleasing malty Highland. Balblair is situated just to the north of Glenmorangie, near the village of Edderton in Ross-shire.

It is one of the oldest distilleries still in existence, dating back to 1790, and there are records of distilleries on the site as far back as 1749. It was rebuilt in the 1870's by the owners, the Ross family and has changed little since then, although it was shut from 1915 to 1947.

It was again closed in 1996 until Inver House, the current owners, took it over and reintroduced it as a single malt. They've done a fine job with the brand, and it tends to be exceptional value.
